I’ll tell you what is really winding me up these days it’s adverts aimed at the UK market but clearly filmed abroad. These are easily spotted by the use of left-hooker jam jars ‘left hand cars’.
Here’s Fabrize one;

SEAT is another;

There’s shed loads of car adverts like these as well as other product adverts that are clearly dubbed sometimes looking in the background will see an American street scene or some European city. Apple are so blatant they are using American kids without the dubbing. I find these foreign adverts insulting, if a company is going to advertise their product in the UK they could at least have the decency to film it here. I’m spending more time studying adverts than watching the programmes these days, still it’s a break from picking up everything the Weller family buys to see if it’s made in China.

Nigerian sham marriage arrests

358sc1tFour people have been arrested after a suspected sham wedding was stopped by officers at Belfast city hall.
On Wednesday 28th August, Lynda Kemisola Eremion a 29-year-old Nigerian woman who was in the country on a student visa was arrested along with her would-be groom, Adeshola Adekunie Bankole, 45, a British citizen. I thought it had been a bit quiet on the Nigerian sham marriages front.

The pair were interviewed and following a search carried out at an address, they claimed to be living at in east Belfast, Eremion was charged with attempting to obtain leave to remain in the UK by deception and Bankole with assisting unlawful immigration. Bankole, hmm I bet he got the piss taken out of him at school.

Anyway Eremion appeared at Belfast magistrates court on Thursday 29th August, to answer to the charges and was remanded in custody to re-appear at the same court at a later date.
Bankole along with Aitua Mercy Tosin a 37-year-old Nigerian woman who was acting as a witness to the ceremony were released after interview but will appear at Belfast magistrates court on 25th September to answer the charges. Tosin is also charged with assisting unlawful immigration.
Another 46-year-old Nigerian woman who was also acting as a witness was released after caution.

Talking about sham weddings

A Gambian man has been arrested moments before he was due to take part in a suspected sham marriage in Preston. Acting on a tip-off officers attended Preston register office, Park hotel on East Cliff on Friday 30th August. Just before the ceremony was due to begin officers intervened and the 39-year-old man, who had been living at an address in Preston, was arrested after checks revealed he was in the country illegally.
He had been due to marry a 57-year-old British woman who was interviewed by officers and later released. The wannabe ‘groom’ was detained pending his removal from the UK.

Nigerian fraudster Johnson Tetede was chucked out of Britain in 2009 after trying to buy a false passport and again last April after trying to use a passport to swindle money from a bank.

But the fraudster returned to the UK within months, don’t they check anyone at airports these days, and was arrested with a bag of half inched (pinched) documents, bank cards and cheques.
Tetede, 32, of Romford, Essex, was jailed for a year at Snaresbrook Crown Court yesterday (Monday) after admitting burglary and handling stolen goods.
The judge heard how a member of the public photographed him trying to steal from communal mail boxes in a block of flats last August. Well done that man.
Police later arrested him on a bus in east London, the fraudster not the member of the public although he could have been arrested for invasion of the fraudster’s privacy by filming him nicking stuff. Tetede was carrying a bag containing HM Revenue and Customs cheques, bank cards and digital numbers for bank balances. One of the cards was a NatWest credit card that had gone missing in the post a fortnight earlier.

Helen Owen, prosecuting, told the court Tetede had been seen looking in communal mail boxes in the flats in Wapping by resident Daniel Rawlings.
Ms Owen said: “Mr Rawlings was able to take several photos of him, while the defendant was protesting he had not taken any mail.
“The defendant targets premises with the intention of stealing items he can use for the purpose of fraud, such as bank cards, cheques and correspondence capable of supporting a false identity.”

Snaresbrook Crown Court was told it was not clear how he entered the country after being removed.
He was jailed for nine months for burglary and another three for handling stolen goods and told he faces deportation to Nigeria when released. Oh don’t make me laugh he’s the Nigerian boomerang, as Arnie would say “I’ll be bark” well that what it sounds like to me.

Uk-Border-agency_5_1451433a

I thought it had been a bit quiet on dodgy Nigerians lately.

358sc1tOn Monday 11th March a geezer from north London, or as I would say ‘norf’ London, was banged up for 14 years for being involved in the trafficking of two Nigerian teenagers.

Odosa Usiobaifo, 35, of Keats Close, Scotland Green Road, Enfield, was found guilty of conspiring to traffick for the purposes of sexual exploitation following a four-week trial at Isleworth crown court. He pleaded guilty to conspiring to facilitate illegal immigration earlier on in the trial.
The jury heard how the girls, who were aged 14 and 15 at the time, were stopped by Border Force officers at Heathrow airport separately on 17th September and 23rd November 2011 using false passports showing they were adults. They had arrived on flights from Lagos and were attempting to transit to Paris. This is where the British trait of fair play lets us down. Why not let them go to Paris so they’re someone elses problem?

During interviews with the Serious Organised Crime Agency’s Vulnerable Persons team it became clear that the pair were being trafficked to mainland Europe, via London, for the purposes of sexual exploitation. They were placed in local authority care but on 6th April 2012 were reported missing to Sussex police by their respective foster carers. They disappeared, now there’s a surprise NOT!
Investigations revealed that contact had been made with the girls and Usiobaifo had collected them from a pre-arranged meeting point before they were given false passports and tickets and placed on a flight to Spain.
One of the girls was refused entry to Spain and returned to the UK. How come we don’t refuse entry instead of forking out £1,000s on court cases, foster homes, appeals then a houses and benefits when we decide it’s too dangerous to send them back where they came from? Anyway she remains in the care of the UK authorities, the other passed through Spanish border controls and is still missing.

Usiobaifo was arrested at his flat in Enfield on 3rd September 2012 alongside his partner Katie Igha, 25.
On Thursday 7th March a jury found Usiobaifo guilty of all charges but acquitted Igha of trafficking. They failed to reach a verdict on a charge of conspiring to facilitate against Igha.

Illegals making beds

Six illegal workers have been arrested following a UK Border Agency raid on a bed factory in Wakefield.
Acting on intelligence, and with assistance from West Yorkshire police, officers visited Times Beds, Warneford Avenue, Ossett, on Wednesday 6th March where they questioned staff to check if they had the right to work in the UK.
A 27-year-old Indian man and Pakistani men aged 27 and 30 were found to have overstayed their visas, Pakistani men aged 28 and 42 had entered the country illegally while a 26-year-old Indian man was arrested as an illegal worker.
All are currently in immigration detention while the UK Border Agency takes steps to remove them from the country at the earliest opportunity.

This is so British

A couple cut off the rear wall of their beach hut to protest against a council decision to increase the rent by 12%. Barbara Grace, 62, and partner Alan Sarfas, 57, were outraged when they were told that the ground rent for their hut which they use all year round was set to go up to £787 from £702.
But they found that they could get round the increase by reducing the overall size of their 10ft by 8ft 6ins hut overlooking the North Sea at Felixstowe, Suffolk.
Instead of paying the extra cash, they used an electric saw powered by a generator to slice off 18 inches from the rear to reduce its overall floor area.

After yesterday’s blog when I told you about eggheads who think because most of the fat people live on the western side of the planet they are changing the earth’s climate by tilting the axis I’ve another bit of nonsense from people who should know better.

According to an Ofsted report into bullying, name calling is rife in many schools but is often dismissed as simply “banter”. Well isn’t it?

The report found that pupils are using insults relating to sexuality, intelligence, race, appearance and family circumstances, with some saying it was acceptable if the words were being used between friends.

Ofsted seem to think words such as “stupid”, “idiot”, “mong”, “spazzer” or “spaz” being used when other kids struggle with work or a sport is bullying.

Now how is name calling bullying, I went to school in the 1960’s and such ‘banter’ was common place and more like ‘piss taking’ which is part of British people genetic makeup.

Bullying is some bigger ‘saucepan lid’ (kid) holding you up against the wall and beating the crap out of you demanding money and the like. The answer to bullying, in my school days, was to hit the bully back harder than he hit you even if you lose this I can hit harder than you competition the bully avoids you in the future because he got hurt and there are easier victims about.

Rhymes

‘Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me’.

This phrase is found at least as early as 1872, where it is presented as advice in Tappy’s Chicks: and Other Links Between Nature and Human Nature, by Mrs. George Cupples.

‘A bully’s boots and fists will hurt me but my fingers in his eyes will stop him’.

This phrase blogged by Percy Weller 2012.

It’s not just fat people tilting earth’s axis it’s also all those on the thin peoples side of the planet coming to our fat side illegally.

Here’s shed loads of cases

An illegal worker has been removed from the UK and three more remain in detention following raids in Aberystwyth, Wales.

In total, six illegal workers from China, Vietnam and Bangladesh were found in raids on two restaurants and a nail bar in the town on 1st June.

Acting on a tip off officers went to Wasabi, on Eastgate, where a 24-year-old woman was found to be working in breach of the conditions of her visitor visa.
She was arrested and taken to Aberystwyth police station before being transferred to immigration detention. She was removed from the UK on the 13th June.

UKBA officers also raided Shilam Tandoori, Alexandra Road, where three Bangladeshi men were found to be working illegally.

Checks revealed that two of the men – aged 28 and 47 – had entered the UK illegally, while a 24-year-old was working in breach of his student visa. All three remain in immigration detention pending their removal from the UK.

Earlier on the same day, Neat Nails on Pier Street was visited and two Vietnamese women were found working illegally.
The first, a 28-year-old, had stayed in the country illegally after her claim for asylum was rejected, while a 23-year-old had stayed in the UK after her visa expired.
The pair are supposed to report regularly to a local police station while outstanding immigration applications are dealt with. If they are found to have no right to remain in the UK they will also face removal. That’s if they don’t scarper in the meantime!

Meanwhile in Dorset

An illegal worker has been removed from the UK and four more remain in detention following raids in Blandford Forum, Dorset. In total, seven illegal workers from Bangladesh were found in raids on three restaurants in the town.

Acting on information received, UKBA officers went to Simla, West Street, on 31st May to carry out immigration checks on the staff present. Three men tried to leg it from the premises but were caught.
Once checks were made, five men from Bangladesh were found to be working illegally.

Two men aged 21 and 25 had stayed in the UK illegally after their student visas expired, two men aged 28 and 38 were found to have entered the UK illegally and a 40-year-old was a failed asylum seeker who had failed to leave the UK after his claim for protection was turned down.
The 21-year-old was removed to his home country on 7th June, while the men aged 25, 28 and 38 remain in immigration detention pending their removal.
The 40-year-old was not detained so is free to disappear and find illegal work elsewhere.

On 23rd May, two more restaurants in Blandford were raided – Bay Leaf on West Street and Spice India on East Street.
At Bay Leaf, a 33-year-old Bangladeshi man was arrested after checks revealed he had entered the UK illegally. He remains in immigration detention pending his removal.
At Spice India, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi man was arrested after he was found to have overstayed his visa. He too was later released to report to UKBA unless of course………you know the rest.

We steal dead people identities

Two Nigerian men living in Luton have been jailed on the 15th June following an elaborate scam to steal the identity of a dead British man. Hmmm Nigerians, a change from sham marriages I suppose.
Finest Ifeanyi Arojie, 43, illegally entered the UK in 2005. The following year he obtained a copy of the birth certificate of a British man, James Samuel Walters, who died in New York in 1989.
In 2007 Arojie used the birth certificate to obtain a British passport in Mr Walters’ identity, stating that he had lost his previous passport. There was no record of Mr Walters’ death because it occurred outside the UK.

Arojie then used his fake British identity to gain employment as a forklift driver in Dunstable in July 2008.
In April 2009 Arojie sponsored the entry to the UK of a man claiming to be his 16-year-old son and calling himself Bright Walters. The pair lived at Old Bedford Road, Luton.

The scam started to unravel in December 2011 when UKBA officers from the criminal and financial investigations team interviewed a woman who claimed that she had been approached about taking part in a sham marriage by an African man using the name James Samuel Walters.

Officers discovered Walters was in Nigeria attempting to obtain visa for two children to reside in the UK. As a result of this investigation, both of these visas were refused.
On 16th December 2011, Arojie, who was travelling using the Walters passport, was stopped as he arrived at Heathrow airport.

On 11th January 2012 Bright Walters was arrested at his home address, where officers also found his British passport.
Bright Walters was charged with obtaining leave to enter or remain in the UK by deception and possession of a false identity document and remanded in custody.

Arojie was charged with seven offences including fraud and conspiracy to facilitate a breach of the UK’s immigration laws.
UKBA officers continued to investigate the scam and following enquiries with officers in Nigeria became convinced that Bright Walters’ real identity was Goodness Iroro Sokoh and that his true age was 24. Walters disputes this.

Arojie and Walters were convicted on 1st June following a week-long trial at Luton crown court. On the 15th June, Arojie was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months while Walters was jailed for 12 months.
A 31-year-old woman who was charged with fraud, possession of a false identity document, facilitating entry of illegal entrants to the UK and obtaining leave to enter or remain in the UK by deception was acquitted at the end of the trial.

A Nigerian geezer who allowed his identity to be used by two illegal immigrants so they could get jobs and stay in Britain has been jailed.

Nigerian national Uzezi Samuels Elor, 50, of Ecclesbourne Road in Thornton Heath, or as I would say ‘Forton Eaf’ was granted settlement in the UK in 1992, and as such was allowed to live and work here.

Not content with that he allowed his identity and his passport to be used by two other men, both Nigerians, in the UK illegally to make it look like they had the right to work in the UK.
He then got their wages paid into his bank accounts claiming this income as his own when he applied for a mortgage. How cute is that?

Both of his ‘opos’ were jailed for ID offences, one has already been removed from the UK.
On Monday 23rd April at Croydon crown court Elor pleaded guilty to two counts of facilitating a breach of immigration law, and one count of fraud by false representation. He was jailed for 3 years and 9 months.

Neither a borrower nor a lender be,
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And imprisonment will be your end.

Apologies to William Shakespeare

Northumberland restaurant caught with four illegal workers on its premises.

UKBA officers carried out checks on staff at Villa Spice 2, part of the Ravensholme Hotel, Ravensdown – a grade II listed building although judging by boarded up windows and fire damage they don’t appear to be looking after it – in Berwick-Upon-Tweed on Friday 20th April.

Three Bangladeshi men aged 29, 31 and 44 found working at the restaurant were arrested. None had permission to work in the UK. A fourth Bangladeshi man, aged 28, found in the rear of the building, was also arrested on immigration offences.
