merrowImmigration officers visited Meghalaya Indian Restaurant, High Street, Cranleigh; Merrow Dynasty Indian Restaurant and Perfect Pizza, both on Epsom Road, Guildford, on Thursday 2nd January.

At Meghalaya, which was visited at 12:25, they arrested two Bangladeshi men, aged 20 and 27, who had both overstayed their visas.

Two further Bangladeshi men, aged 22 and 29, were arrested at Merrow, which was visited at 14:05. They too were found to have overstayed their visas.

Officers then visited Perfect Pizza at 16:10. There they arrested a 22-year-old Afghan man who was found to be a failed asylum seeker.

All those arrested were transferred to immigration detention pending removal from the country apart from the two men found at Meghalaya. They will have to report regularly to the Home Office pending removal from the country, that’s if they bother to turn up.
