Restaurant in Egham caught with illegal workers
Immigration enforcement officers visited Mango Chutney Indian Restaurant, St Jude’s Road, Englefield Green, at about 19:45 on Wednesday 18th December 2013. They arrested two men. An Indian man, aged 21, was working in breach of his visa conditions, while a 34-year-old Nepalese man had overstayed his visa.
Both men were transferred to immigration detention pending removal from the country.
Meanwhile in Sandhurst and Reading.
Officers visited Premier-Newsboy, High Street, Sandhurst, on Wednesday 18th December 2013 and Reading businesses Rahim Stores, Wokingham Road, and Kebabish Original, London Road, on Thursday 19th December.
At Premier-Newsboy, which was visited at 17:30, they arrested a 25-year-old Sri Lankan man who had overstayed his visa.
Officers arrested two Pakistani men at Rahim Stores, which was visited at 13:20. An 18-year-old had overstayed his visa while a 28-year-old was found to be working in breach of his visa conditions.
They also arrested a 32-year-old Pakistani man who had overstayed his visa at Kebabish, which was also visited at about 13:20.
All those arrested were transferred to immigration detention pending removal from the country.
