Nine people have been arrested following an Immigration Enforcement raid on a dairy in Acton, London. UKBA officers visited the Freshways site on Eastman Road on Tuesday 24th June, where they carried out immigration checks on members of staff. The dairy is now fresh out of staff then?
freshwaysEight men and a woman were arrested for immigration offences. Four Indian men and two men from Pakistan, all aged between 22 and 34, were found to have overstayed their visas.
Two men from Pakistan, aged 33 and 44, were found to have entered the UK illegally, while a 22-year-old Indian woman was found to be working in breach of her visa conditions.
Eight were detained pending their removal from the UK and a 26-year-old man from India was granted immigration bail pending his removal or whether they can find him again.
Another two members of staff were found to be working without permission and were escorted from the site. Let off in other words.

Talking about nine

Nine illegal workers from Pakistan and India have been arrested following an operation by Immigration Enforcement team in Prestwick and Ayr.
Officers, with assistance from Police Scotland, visited the Spice Cube in Main Street, Prestwick and Spice of India in Ayr’s Sandgate on Friday 21st June. I usually google map these businesses to have a ‘butchers hook’ (look) at their location and on a lot of occasions I’ve found that another business is operating from that address, this time it’s Subway. I know Google maps go back a few years but it seems these restaurants and takeaways are ‘fly by night’ so I should think collecting all the issued fines is so much ‘pie in the sky’.
Checks on the immigration status of staff revealed four men from Pakistan and two from India at the Spice Cube who had no right to work in the UK. Two illegal workers from Pakistan and one from India were also found at the Spice of India. They were arrested and have all been detained pending their removal from the country.
A number of suspects attempted to leg it from both premises but they were nabbed. Investigations into illegal working at the restaurants are ongoing.

Two illegal workers have been arrested following an operation by UKBA officers in Northwich, Cheshire.
Officers visited Pound Centre, Market Square in Northwich on Tuesday 25th June.
Checks on the immigration status of staff revealed two men working illegally at the premises. They included a 24-year-old Afghani man who had entered the UK illegally and a 31-year-old Pakistani man who had overstayed his visa.
Both men were arrested and are currently detained pending removal from the UK. The shop was closed as no staff were left to serve in the shop. What sort of shop owner lets two illegal workers run his shop, I doubt if he knows who on earth they really are for a start.
