UK Border Agency officers on 15th August raided Merridale Polishing and Plating Ltd, Brookside, off Friars Street, Wednesbury and at the company’s sister site in Oxford Street, Bilston, Wolverhampton (pictured).
Eight Indian men were arrested at the Wednesbury site and three Indian men were caught at the Bilston site after checks showed that they had no right to work in the UK.

They are supposedly going to be removed once arrangements are made.

Football training reward for offenders on the custodial threshold

FC United the community based Northern Premier League football club supplies qualified coaches every Thursday who run five-a-side sessions for people sentenced to Intensive Alternative to Custody (IAC) orders.
IAC is an intensive community order for men aged from 18 to 25 from Manchester and Salford whose offences put them on the custodial threshold. The weekly sessions are free, and hosted at Broughton Hub.

FC United of Manchester is a community football club that was set up in 2005 by fans disenchanted with the Glazers’ purchase of Manchester United.
The club runs sessions at locations across the region to help bring football to disadvantaged groups and met with organisations across Greater Manchester to fulfil that aim. IAC was one of those who got on-board.
