Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman aka The Bounty Hunter has been refused UK visa to appear on Celebrity Big Brother.
What a crazy country we are, we let in thousands of people who we don’t check up on to see if they have a criminal past, many of them have even thrown their passport and id’s away so we don’t even know who they are or where they come from.
At the last count there were 573 overseas nationals serving sentences for murder in our prisons. When these killers are freed most are not even deported and some that are deported just stroll back into our country to commit crimes again.
We fail to allow extradition of wanted terrorists back to their countries where they committed their crimes because of human rights issues.
We hand over our own nationals on the flimsiest of evidence some who have already been found not guilty of the crime they are now recharged with.
Bearing this is mind how absurd is it to refuse a visa to Chapman, who stars with his family in a television series which focuses on his life as a bounty hunter, because he was sentenced to 5 years but paroled after 18 months for being outside a house in a car when a friend shot and killed a man nearly forty years ago in Pampa, Texas.
In 1976 Chapman, then 23, was in the car where a friend had gone inside to buy marijuana. He said the friend got into an argument with the dealer and shot him.
“In Texas in the 70s, if you were present, you were just as guilty,” Chapman said. He and the others in the group were all found guilty of murder.
India plans to send a spacecraft to Mars next year on a scientific mission.
Manmohan Singh, the prime minsiter, announced the 4.5 billion rupee (£52 million) mission during a speech Wednesday marking the 65th anniversary of India’s independence from British rule. So in this time of drastic financial cuts why has our Government shelled out £292.5 million to India in the year 2011/12. Perhaps that’s why India can afford a spacecraft to Mars. Picture shows one of India’s space projects blowing up.
BBC’s The Archers still being wrecked
A week or so ago I blogged about the radio series of ‘simple country folk’ being turned upside down with over the top story lines by former EastEnders executive producer John Yorke who has just joined Archers.
This week we heard a story line about a property developer trying to force an old couple out of their home, a pregnant woman character who looks as though she is going to have a downs syndrome baby and a male character who has had three story lines of love interest with women suddenly given the elbow out of the programme because he has just met an old schoolfriend on a holiday trip and decided he is now homosexual and will live happily ever after in some remote part of Cumbria.
Toff/Tories getting Britain back to work policy.
Is it just me or do I read too much between the lines. Government bully boys Atos force ill people off of disability benefits and back into work causing them to die earlier than necessary .
Meanwhile the Government cut down how many people can have cataract operations causing those to go blind so they can’t work any more.
Therefore is the Government’s plan to release jobs from people forced to become blind so ill people can take their place for their now shortened lifespan causing those jobs to become vacant very quickly for the next doomed work forced to fill?
