Issue with Big Issue

I’ve got an issue with the Big Issue.

Bumpf on their website says “The Big Issue offers some of the most excluded people in the country a unique opening to take some control of their lives and earn a legitimate income. Vendors make a personal choice to buy their magazines with their own money, taking charge of their finances and sales whilst developing the skills required to retail to the public.

The Big Issue Foundation is a financially independent charity which builds around the unique trust that we establish with homeless people to deliver a brighter future, boosting self esteem and helping vendors to reclaim their citizenship.”

If that’s the case why have all the Big Issue sellers in and around our area suddenly become eastern European, mostly Romanians, who only seem to know enough English language to say “Big Issue please“. They seem to have the basics wrong, it’s the public who should be asking for the magazine not them.

Now you’re not telling me all those homeless people of our country have found somewhere to live by ousting Romanian migrants out of their taxpayer funded homes and onto our streets. The last count of people living on the streets in our area at Christmas showed a reduction in numbers on last year with no apparent Romanians.

I suggest Romanians are coming to the UK to sell the Big Issue claiming they are now self employed and able to claim housing benefits.

Big Issue get back to your roots, you’re being used in an immigration scam.
