UK Border Agency names and shames

Posted: February 11, 2012 in British jobs for British workers, Law & Disorder

IlieThe UK Border Agency will publish quarterly reports detailing the penalties given to people or organisations who employ illegal workers that show:

the number of civil penalties issued;
the number of illegal workers found; and
the value of the penalties broken down by geographical regions.

They will also publish a quarterly report naming employers who have:

not paid or are not making regular payments for a penalty 28 days after they have exhausted their objection and/or appeal rights; or

been served with a second or subsequent penalty once they have exhausted their objection and/or appeal rights regardless of whether any payment has been made.

been served with a second or further penalty once they have exhausted all their objection or appeal rights regardless of whether they have made any payments.

Mind you no point in naming and shaming people who don’t pay unless the Border Agency is extremely pro-active in hounding these businesses into paying with the threat of closure of businesses until fine is paid.
