Denmark doomed

Posted: September 16, 2011 in General, Law & Disorder

A few years back the Weller family had a excellent camping holiday in Denmark. We found it uncrowded, clean, full of nice people and a really pleasant place to be.

But all that is about to change.

IlieLord Kinnock’s daughter-in-law Helle Thorning-Schmidt is to become Denmark’s first woman prime minister after winning a knife-edge victory in the country’s general election.

You must remember the Kinnocks, Glenys and Neil, they’re the ones that have had about £8m of taxpayers money away by being part of the European parliament gravy train.

At one point both Kinnocks claimed a housing allowance on top of their incomes, even though they lived in the same home. This alone would have netted the couple almost £600,000 over 10 years.

Anyway I digress on Thursday night, her centre-left coalition, won 89 of the country’s seats next to the 86 seats won by the coalition led by Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen.

Addressing victorious Social Democratic Party members last night, Ms Thorning-Schidmt, 44, said: “Today is the day things change in Denmark. This evening we’ve shown that the Social Democrats are a big and driving force in Denmark. We’ve written history today.”

Unfortunately this is likely to mean a softening of the austerity measures brought in by the government of Mr Rasmussen and an end to the continual tightening of the country’s immigration laws.

Sound familiar?

Travel by train, don’t nod off.

Nine members of the same family of Romanian gypsies appeared in court yesterday accused of targeting sleeping commuters in a lucrative late-night pick-pocketing plot.

At least 200 victims woke up to find property including mobiles, iPods and laptops had been half-inched (pinched) on trains between Charing Cross in central London, and Gravesend in Kent.
