Illegal workers are everywhere!

Two Indian men working illegally at a supermarket in Crediton are in detention after being arrested by the UK Border Agency.

Officers from the agency went to Costcutter, 135 High Street, at 15:00 on 4 April after receiving information that illegal workers were employed there.

Two men, aged 28 and 33, were on site and immigration checks revealed that both were working in breach of their student visas.

The pair were taken to Exeter police station and remain in detention pending their removal from the UK.

The shop had to close temporarily after the men were arrested because no workers were left on site.

Officers from UK Border Agency targeted the Bonnybridge restaurant Cotton House on Glasgow Road, Longcroft and Falkirk takeaway Kebabish on Grahams Road in Falkirk on the evening of Friday 25 March to question staff and ensure they had the right to work in the UK.

After the immigration status of staff was checked, one Chinese man was found working illegally at the Cotton House and two Pakistani men were found working illegally at Kebabish. All three men have no right to be in the UK, and are being detained pending their removal from the country.

UK Border Agency visited Abid’s Takeaway in Courthill Street, Dalry on Friday 1 April to question staff and ensure they had the right to work in the UK.

After the immigration status of staff was checked, two Pakistani men were found working illegally at the takeaway. Both men have no right to be in the UK, and are being detained pending their removal from the country.

Three people have been arrested following a UK Border Agency raid on a pizza takeaway in Slough.

Officers visited Topps Pizza on Farnham Road around lunchtime on Tuesday 5 April, where they questioned staff to see if they had the right to work in the UK.

Two men from Pakistan aged 37 and 43 were arrested. One was in the country illegally because his visa had run out and the other was a failed asylum seeker.

A third person was also arrested at the scene, a 50-year-old female failed asylum seeker from Pakistan. She wasn’t thought to be working there.

All three remain in detention pending their removal from the country.

Five illegal workers have been caught during UK Border Agency raids on businesses in Stamford.

Officers visited the Saffron Lounge restaurant in Main Road on 24 March. They sealed all exits before questioning staff and checking their immigration status. Two Bangladeshi men, 32 and 35, were identified as having illegally entered the UK and had no permission to work.

Officers followed up this visit with on a second Stamford business on 29 March – The Lounge Nail Bar on St Mary’s Street. At the nail bar they caught three Vietnamese nationals who were illegally working. Two of the illegal workers were failed asylum seekers – a man, 38, and a woman, 28 – while another man, 33, was identified as an illegal entrant.

Acting on intelligence, officers visited Costcutter, 100 Coleshill Road on 29 March.

After sealing all the exits, officers questioned staff and checked their immigration status. Three illegal workers were identified – all were Indian men who had illegally entered the UK.

Officers then paid a visit to the Kenilworth Kebab House, 72 Warwick Road where they arrested an Indian man, 26, who had illegally entered the UK.

Five illegal workers have been caught during a UK Border Agency raid on a poultry dealer and wholesaler in the Black Country.

Officers visited Mike’s Poultry, Princess End Industrial Park, Nicholls Road, Tipton on 31 March.

After sealing all the exits, officers questioned staff and checked their immigration status. Five illegal workers were arrested – all Indian men – of whom four had overstayed visas while two had illegally entered the UK.

The UK Border Agency is now taking action to deport all five illegal workers.

No wonder we have millions of unemployed, yet ToffTory/LibDims are cutting UKBA staff numbers to save money, how stupid is that?
