Elgin restaurant staff were all illegal workers

An Elgin restaurant had to close for the night and now faces a large fine after all five staff inside were found to be working illegally. Looks like an illegal worker did the sign writing too, spot the error.

IlieActing on intelligence, officers from the UK Border Agency targeted the Emperor Restaurant in North College Street on Tuesday 15 March to question staff and ensure they had the right to work in the UK.

After the immigration status of staff was checked, one Chinese woman and four Chinese men were found working illegally at the Emperor. All five have no right to be in the UK, and must now report regularly to a police station while steps are taken to secure travel documents to remove them from the country.

That’s if they don’t do a runner to work in some other out of the way restaurant.

Error in the sign – no ‘I’ in Chinese.
