An idiots guide……

…….how not to employ illegal workers.

UKBA officers went to Fresh N Fast Quality Ltd on the Abenglen Industrial estate on the morning of Thursday 29 July, questioning staff to ensure they had the right to work in the UK.

The five, three men and two women were all Indian nationals aged between 21 and 34. Three were working in breach of their visas, while the other two were arrested for overstaying their visa and entering the UK illegally.

Four of the five remain in detention pending their removal from the UK, while one has been granted immigration bail. This is the point when they should be turfed out of the country straight away.

Some people never learn either this is the second time in a year the business has been visited by UK Border Agency officers. They were fined £40,000 following a similar raid on 30 July 2009.

Here’s Percy’s idiots guide ‘How not to employ illegals’.

If you can’t read English very well the key points are ‘Allowed To Work’ and ‘Employment Permitted’ which means they can be employed. ‘Employment Prohibited’ and ‘Forbidden From Taking Employment’ means big fine!

Here’s the rest of the ‘bumf’.

Only a small number of asylum seekers are permitted to work here whilst they await a decision on their claim. If the asylum seeker is permitted to work they will hold a Home Office issued Application Registration Card (ARC). The ARC will state ‘allowed to work’ or ‘employment permitted’ on both sides of their card as indicated in the images on this page. (Please note that new ARCs are to be issued in the near future with the wording ‘UKBA APPLICATION REGISTRATION CARD’ instead of ‘IND APPLICATION REGISTRATION CARD’, both are acceptable).

If you are presented with an ARC which states ‘forbidden from taking employment’ or ‘employment prohibited’ on either side, as shown on this page, then the holder does not have permission to work. If you employ them, you may be liable for payment of a civil penalty for employing an illegal migrant worker, or be charged with a criminal offence of knowingly employing an illegal migrant worker, unless the person can otherwise demonstrate their entitlement to work in the UK.

By the way in Russia they sack incompetent people.

If this loss of life due to failure to put out fires happened in the UK, after media outcry an inquiry – which would have lasted about 5 years and cost millions – would have found one person responsible who would have had to resign with a big fat pension and who would have received full pay for the duration of the inquiry.

However, Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian president, has sacked a string of officers over failures to stop wildfires that have killed 48 people as a new blaze raged close to a secret nuclear research facility. With the week-long crisis showing no sign of abating amid Russia’s worst heatwave in decades, the emergencies ministry said hundreds of new fires had started over the past day and more bodies were found.

“I order the ministry of defence to fire a whole number of officers for the disciplinary infringements that were allowed to take place,” the president said. Those sacked included the head of the Russian Navy’s logistics division Sergei Sergeyev and the head of the Navy’s aviation Nikolai Kuklev, Medvedev said.

With ToffTory/LibDim giving schools more money for poor children they better watch out for head teachers like this.

Despina Pavlou was found guilty of ‘unacceptable professional conduct’ by the General Teaching Council (GTC).

The allegations related to Ms Pavlou’s time in charge at Lord Grey School, in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, between September 2000 and 31 March 2006. The panel decided she had used the school’s budget to buy champagne, wine, a wooden shed and a business class flight to Australia.
