Three on sham marriage charge.

IlieThree foreign nationals from Bristol and Bath have been charged with involvement in alleged sham marriages.

Acting on intelligence suggesting that a Jamaican man and woman had married two Bulgarians in an attempt to stay in the UK illegally, the UK Border Agency carried out raids at two private addresses on 25 March.

Rolando Brown, 35, of Lower Station Road, was due to appear before Bristol magistrates charged with seeking leave to remain in the UK by deception.

Two Bulgarian nationals, 33-year-old Dimitrina Kostova and Miroslav Todorov, 48, both of Pierrepont Street, Bath, have been charged with facilitating the illegal entry of foreign nationals into the UK.

The suspects were due to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 3 June.

Officers want to speak to a fourth suspect, a Jamaican woman, as part of their investigation, which relates to church weddings in Bristol.
