Woman wanted for murder in Pakistan on benefits.

Remember my post ‘hung out to dry’ where British people are being extradited back to face foreign courts and imprisonment, without any complaint from our Government. Well it appears if you’re non-British wanted for murder in your home country not only are you allowed to stay in the UK the taxpayer also pays to keep you.

Bushra Ferozdin Butt, 35, spent ten months in custody after she was accused of pouring kerosene over her husband Amjad Hussain, 36, and setting him alight in Pakistan. She was eventually bailed by a judge but fled to Luton, where she had lived with Mr Hussain for nine years.

Although not a British citizen, she had previously been granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK, which entitles her to £330.70 a week in council tax and housing benefit – equivalent to an annual salary of £22,000 before tax and National Insurance. She arrived back in the UK in September last year, which means she has already received £11,243.

Butt, who denies murder and insists her husband’s clothes accidentally caught fire, claims she was given permission to leave Pakistan.

IlieButt and her husband married in 1999 in Pakistan, where she worked as a government health visitor. Shortly afterwards she obtained UK residency and the couple, who had no children, moved to Luton. They moved back to Roli, in Azad Kashmir in Pakistan, in June 2008. Her husband died the next month.

Prosecutors accuse Butt of severing her husband’s Achilles tendon before setting him on fire.

Witnesses, who saw him staggering out of his home engulfed in 20ft flames, claim she ‘giggled’ while telling her mother-in-law: ‘Don’t worry. He won’t die.’
Mr Hussain suffered 90 per cent burns and died in hospital 13 days later after telling police his wife – who has used the name Bushra Din since his death – had attacked him.

At the one-bedroom flat she rents from a private landlord, Butt said: “I do not work because I have depression. I am very worried I will have to go back to Pakistan”.

Mirza Abdul Aziz Ratalvi, the lawyer for Mr Hussain’s family, said: ‘She misused the bail and flew abroad. We’re trying to bring her back.’

A black woman who hurled a torrent of racial abuse at a white neighbour for three hours has escaped a jail sentence.

Carol Maxwell,44, launched a three-hour racist and foul-mouthed tirade at Andrew Thorn who was walking towards his flat at Sutton-at-Hone, near Dartford, in August last year. The victim saw a bottle fly through the air and smash next to his car, followed by Maxwell shouting.

Judge Macdonald told Maxwell, who represented herself, having sacked her solicitor and barrister: “I observed you at trial. “I reach the decision that you are, indeed, an entrenched racist.”

She denied racially aggravated intentional harassment, alarm and distress but was convicted by a jury.

But the “entrenched racist” Maxwell was only sentenced to 26 weeks imprisonment suspended for 18 months and 200 hours unpaid work where as we all know a white person accused of racism usually gets a longer prison sentence not suspended.
