ASDA Price Guarantee

If your ASDA shopping cost less elsewhere we’ll give you the difference it’s simple, or is it?

What is the ASDA Price Guarantee?

The advert appears quite clear, if your ASDA shopping costs you less elsewhere ASDA will give you the difference plus one penny.

Have a look though at the small print that runs along the bottom of the tv advert, that’s if you have keen eyesight or have gone to Specsavers.

Firstly you have to have eight or more comparable items that are cheaper at Tesco, Morrisons or Sainsbury’s only.

But they don’t actually give you money back. If your shopping was found to be cheaper elsewhere they will either issue you with a voucher which is only redeemable at ASDA or if your purchase was online an e-voucher to redeem against your online grocery shop. The voucher must be redeemed within 28 days of it being issued.

What the advert should say is ‘if you can find 8 or more items cheaper only at Tesco, Sainsbury’s or Morrisons stores we will give you an in-store voucher to the value of the difference plus one penny’. But that doesn’t catch the eye or rolls off the tongue very easily does it.

An offer probably not worth the effort it entails.
