IlieA Met Police officer who engaged in sexual activity with a domestic abuse victim has been convicted of misconduct in a public office.

PC James Formby, 31, who is based in Bromley, took advantage of the woman – who had been drinking – after his colleague had arrested a man following the incident on September 19 last year.

He pleaded guilty at Southwark Crown Court today following an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

PC Formby will be sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, March 1.

A police officer faces trial accused of drink-driving and failing to stop after an accident.

Police officer Dione Mayfield, 32, who had reached the status of Temporary Inspector after taking promotion steps, faces trial accused of drink-driving and failing to stop after an accident.

The charges relate to a crash in Rainham, on Friday, September 25, 2009, when it is alleged she was driving while over the limit and her car struck another vehicle, breaking its wing mirror.

Mayfield, from Rainham, was working at Kent Police headquarters in Maidstone at the time of the incident. She has since been suspended from her duties.

Her trial will be heard at the same court on Thursday, April 1.

      The address was published on various Kent news sites. The trial has since concluded and the result was;
      Dione Mayfield was found guilty of driving her Ford Focus while her alcohol level was above the legal limit on September 25 in Bloors Lane. She had 103 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35. She was also found guilty of failing to stop at the scene of an accident on the same day in the same place.

      Mayfield was sentenced to complete 200 hours unpaid work, disqualified her for two years and ordered her to pay £1,000 costs.
