Illegal worker found at car wash.

Suspected illegal worker at a Cleethorpes car wash was caught by immigration officers apparently trying to escape through a toilet window.

IlieActing on intelligence, officers from the UK Border Agency targeted the Fast Track Hand Car Wash, on Humberston Road, Cleethorpes.

After questioning those working there, they came across a Kosovan male allegedly trying to escape through the window of the car wash toilet. Officers suspected the 28-year-old of working there illegally. He was arrested for being in breach of his visa and released on bail, pending further investigation.

His employer was served with a Notice of Potential Liability in relation to the suspected illegal worker and has 28 days to respond or face a fine of up to £10,000.

The manager of the car wash, Besart Beisha, said that he carries out checks to ensure that all staff are legally entitled to work. He stressed he had never had any illegal workers at the car wash. that old chestnut!
